People Administrator – DSAR (6 Month FTC)

We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused People Administrator – DSAR to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), helping ensure we meet our data protection obligations while delivering a professional and efficient service. Alongside this, you’ll provide essential HR administrative support and play a key role in delivering a positive employee experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Data Subject Access Requests (Primary Focus)
- Manage and coordinate all DSARs across HR
- Track requests to ensure compliance with statutory deadlines
- Use Microsoft Purview (eDiscovery & Content Search) to locate and extract data
- Work with HR, IT, Payroll and wider stakeholders to gather information
- Review and redact sensitive data in line with GDPR requirements
- Maintain clear records and audit trails
- Identify and escalate risks or complex cases
- Continuously improve DSAR processes and documentation
- Ensure secure handling of all personal data
HR Administration (Secondary Focus)
- Act as a first point of contact for employee queries
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation
- Manage Right to Work processes
- Support Joiners, Movers & Leavers (JML) activity
- Maintain accurate HR system data
- Liaise with Payroll on employee changes
- Conduct regular data and file audits
- Support wider HR administration as required
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
- Experience managing administrative processes or casework to deadlines
- Understanding of GDPR or data protection principles (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Exposure to systems such as Microsoft Purview or similar
Desirable
- Previous HR administration experience
- Experience managing DSARs or similar data requests
- Familiarity with HR systems (e.g. Workday)
- Experience using Microsoft Purview (eDiscovery, content search, data export)

The HR Administrator – DSAR, is responsible for having a primary focus on Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), forming a key part of the organisation’s data protection and compliance framework. Other aspects of the role will involve general HR administrative support, acting as the first point of contact for employee queries and ensuring the smooth execution of key HR processes in line with policies, procedures and our employee experience vision.
Data Subject Access Requests
(Primary Focus)
- Manage and coordinate all Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) within HR, acting as the central point of contact.
- Log, track, and monitor DSARs to ensure responses are completed within statutory deadlines.
- Utilise Microsoft Purview (eDiscovery and content search tools) to identify, collect, and export relevant employee data.
- Liaise with HR, IT, payroll, and other stakeholders to gather required information.
- Collate, review, and redact personal data in accordance with GDPR and company data protection policies.
- Maintain accurate records and audit trails of all DSAR activity.
- Identify and escalate risks or complex cases to appropriate stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of DSAR processes, templates, and documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure secure handling, storage, and transfer of sensitive personal data at all times.
HR Administrative Responsibilities
(Secondary Focus)
- Serving as the first point of contact for employee queries, ensuring timely resolution or escalation to relevant HR colleagues as appropriate.
- Preparing and issuing offer letters and employment documentation in line with company standards and compliance requirements.
- Compiling Right to Work (RTW) documentation, ensuring all documentation is verified and recorded accurately.
- Managing the Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) process, maintaining data integrity and process efficiency.
- Supporting data accuracy and integrity across HR systems by regularly auditing employee records and updating information as required.
- Liaising with payroll to ensure accurate processing of new starters, leavers, and employee changes.
- Conducting periodic audits of employee files to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Administering manual processes, as applicable, including liaising with relevant parties and ensuring compliance with company policy.
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential Experience
· Experience handling sensitive personal data and maintaining confidentiality
· Experience managing or supporting data requests, casework, or administrative
processes with strict deadlines
· Exposure to or experience using Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery tools, or similar
systems
· Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles (or willingness to develop
quickly)
Desirable Experience
· Previous experience in a HR administrative role
· Previous experience handling DSARs or similar data requests

· Previous experience of undertaking a broad scope of tasks, including project
involvement and oversight as well as administrative duties
