Reed Education is working in partnership with a brand-new specialist school in Derby, that provides education for children and young people aged 4-19 with Autism and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Due to continued growth and increased pupil enrolment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join the team and play a key role in the school's ongoing development.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a differentiated and personalised curriculum tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Creating engaging and creative learning experiences that inspire confidence and achievement
  • Supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH and additional learning needs to reach their full potential
  • Working collaboratively with therapists, support staff and wider professionals to provide a holistic approach to education
  • Monitoring, assessing and celebrating pupil progress through adaptive teaching strategies
  • Creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and empowered

The school caters for children and young people with a range of additional needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Condition and associated SEMH needs. What We're Looking For

  • QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, ASC and/or SEMH needs, or a strong desire to develop within specialist education
  • A flexible, creative and pupil-centred approach to teaching
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • The ability to thrive within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
