People Officer

Salary: £36,203 - £41,824
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time - 37 hours per week
Location: Can be based in Cardiff/Colwyn Bay/Carmarthen Office 2 days a week - Hybrid Working

We're delighted to be recruiting a People Officer on behalf of a prestigious and exciting organisation in Wales.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, proactive and people-focused HR professional to join a supportive People team in a broad and varied role. You'll be at the heart of the organisation, helping to deliver an excellent People service and creating a positive employee experience for colleagues across the business.

The role Working closely with the People Manager, you'll provide practical, first-line HR support while getting involved across the full employee lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR and People queries
• Supporting recruitment and onboarding activity
• Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and people data
• Coordinating learning and development activities
• Providing support across employee relations matters
• Assisting with HR policies, processes and governance
• Supporting equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Contributing to wider People projects and organisational initiatives
• Building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation

About you We're looking for someone who is passionate about people and takes pride in delivering a high-quality HR service.

You'll ideally bring:

• Experience working within a busy HR or People environment
• Experience providing first-line HR/People support
• A good understanding of HR processes and employment legislation
• Experience maintaining HR systems, employee records and confidential data
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and use your own initiative
• A genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience

As the organisation operates across Wales, some travel between locations will be required.

Welsh language Welsh language skills are essential for this position. You'll need to be comfortable communicating in both Welsh and English, including in meetings, one-to-one conversations and public-facing situations.
