SALARY: £30,240 per annum + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

LOCATION: Hybrid working with both site-based and remote work covering the Kent Region

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, including one evening session

 

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Behaviour Change Practitioner to help people understand harmful behaviours and build safer, healthier patterns of thinking and action.

As a Behaviour Change Practitioner you will deliver CBT and DBT-informed one-to-one and group interventions across community, probation, prison, police and online settings.

The Behaviour Change Practitioner will combine rapport, professional boundaries and accurate casework with multi-agency collaboration, supporting risk management, safeguarding, public safety and positive outcomes.

 

DUTIES

Your duties as the Behaviour Change Practitioner include:

  • Assessments and Intervention Planning: Conduct assessments, inductions and personalised intervention planning
  • CBT and DBT-Informed Delivery: Deliver structured one-to-one and group interventions using CBT and DBT-informed approaches
  • Behaviour Change Support: Help participants recognise, understand and change harmful behaviours while maintaining accountability
  • Case Records and Reporting: Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports, evaluations and progress updates
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with police, probation, prisons, safeguarding teams and other professionals
  • Risk Management and Safeguarding: Contribute to risk management processes, including MASH and MAPPA forums where required
  • Supervision and Reflective Practice: Participate in clinical and management supervision and continuous learning
  • Professional Boundaries: Safely manage challenging, resistant or high-risk behaviours while remaining calm and professional

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Experience of working within risk management or safeguarding frameworks
  • Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries
  • Experience delivering support both face-to-face and remotely
  • Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills

Desirable

  • Qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Probation or a related discipline
  • Knowledge or experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Experience contributing to MASH, MAPPA or similar multi-agency forums
  • Experience delivering interventions within criminal justice, social care or domestic abuse services
  • Understanding of the social and psychological factors associated with domestic abuse and harmful behaviours
