SALARY: £22.31 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay + Benefits

LOCATION: Remote working - supporting various areas across the United Kingdom

JOB TYPE: Casual / Sessional / Bank Staff – flexibility required to work as and when needed

WORKING HOURS: As required. Delivery is generally Monday to Friday and may include evening delivery until 20:00hrs

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Behaviour Change Practitioner to support individuals who have demonstrated abusive, stalking or other harmful behaviours, helping them understand the impact of their actions and develop safer, healthier alternatives.

As the Behaviour Change Practitioner, you will assess, engage and support participants using CBT and DBT-informed approaches, delivering one-to-one and group interventions both face-to-face and remotely via online platforms.

The Behaviour Change Practitioner will work with a diverse range of people, balancing empathy with accountability, maintaining professional boundaries and collaborating with partner agencies including police, probation, prisons and safeguarding professionals to promote positive outcomes and public safety.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Behaviour Change Practitioner include:

• Conduct Assessments: Complete assessments, inductions and personalised intervention plans for participants
• Deliver Interventions: Deliver CBT and DBT-informed interventions in individual and group settings
• Support Behaviour Change: Help participants recognise, understand and change harmful behaviours
• Maintain Case Records: Keep accurate, timely and professional records, reports, evaluations and progress updates
• Work with Partners: Collaborate with police, probation, prisons, safeguarding teams and other professionals
• Contribute to Risk Management: Support risk management processes, including MASH and MAPPA forums where required
• Take Part in Supervision: Participate in clinical and management supervision to support safe and effective practice
• Deliver Programmes: Support delivery of domestic abuse and healthy relationships programmes
• Manage Challenging Behaviour: Safely manage resistant, challenging or higher-risk behaviours while maintaining professional boundaries

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

• Experience of working within risk management or safeguarding frameworks
• Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising work effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries
• Experience delivering support both face-to-face and remotely
• Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills
• Confidence to challenge attitudes and behaviours constructively
• Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm, objective and solution-focused under pressure
• A reflective, self-aware approach with a commitment to continuous learning
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies

Desirable

• Qualification in counselling, psychology, probation or a related discipline
• Knowledge or experience of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
• Experience contributing to MASH, MAPPA or similar multi-agency forums
• Experience delivering interventions within criminal justice, social care or domestic abuse services
• Understanding of the social and psychological factors associated with domestic abuse and harmful behaviours
