SALARY: £25,642 pro rata + Benefits

LOCATION: Covering various locations across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, East Midlands

JOB TYPE: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Various hours throughout the week, Monday to Sunday

Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Community Support Worker to join a dedicated community care team supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities & Autism across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

As a Community Support Worker you will work proactively and creatively within local communities, supporting people with Learning Disabilities and Autism to access opportunities, develop life skills, build confidence and achieve greater independence.

The successful Community Support Worker will provide person-centred support, promote wellbeing, encourage social inclusion and help individuals become active citizens whilst maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care planning and support delivery.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Community Support Worker (Learning Disabilities & Autism) include:

  • Providing Person-Centred Support: Deliver tailored support to individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism within community settings
  • Promoting Independence: Encourage people to develop daily living skills, confidence and self-reliance
  • Community Participation: Support individuals to access education, leisure activities, employment opportunities and local services
  • Building Positive Relationships: Develop professional relationships with service users, families, carers and external agencies
  • Supporting Individual Goals: Assist people to achieve personal outcomes identified within support plans
  • Promoting Inclusion: Encourage participation within the community and reduce social isolation
  • Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults: Maintain awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and report concerns appropriately
  • Maintaining Accurate Records: Complete support notes, documentation and reports in line with organisational procedures
  • Travelling Between Locations: Provide support across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as required
  • Working Collaboratively: Liaise effectively with colleagues and professionals to ensure high-quality support delivery

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism or additional needs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate, respectful and individualised support
  • Experience promoting independence and social inclusion
  • Ability to work varying hours including evenings and weekends when required
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Dedication to delivering high-quality community care and support services
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and best practice principles
  • Willingness to travel throughout the service area

DESIRABLE

  • Access to your own vehicle for work-related travel
  • Experience supporting autistic individuals
  • Experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities
  • Understanding of person-centred support planning and outcome-focused support
