Duties to include: Attaching and securing loads Select and fix the correct lifting gear (slings, chains, hooks) to materials or equipment. Directing crane operations Give clear hand signals or radio instructions to the crane operator to guide lifting and placement. Planning lifts Check weight, balance, and the safest way to move loads before lifting begins. Inspecting lifting equipment Ensure slings, chains, and lifting gear are safe and not damaged before use.
