Youth Development Worker Tenancy Sustainment

LOCATION: Liskeard
SALARY: £14.82 + holiday pay
DURATION: Temporary (3 months) with potential to become permanent
HOURS: 37 hours per week
Shifts between 8am 10pm, Monday to Sunday (rolling 4-week rota)

We are recruiting a Youth Development Worker Tenancy Sustainment to join a supported accommodation service in Liskeard, helping young people experiencing homelessness to build confidence, develop life skills, and move towards independent living.

The service takes a strength-based approach, encouraging young people to aim high, build their independence, and work towards their ambitions.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting young people in a supported living accommodation, with occasional short periods of lone working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide key worker support to young people living within the service

  • Work alongside residents to develop support and action plans

  • Update risk assessments and risk management plans

  • Support young people to develop life skills for independent living

  • Help residents maintain their licence agreements or tenancies

  • Support young people to access external services and opportunities

  • Take a person-centred approach, adapting your support style to each individual

This is a role where your personality and approach really matter. The young people supported come from diverse backgrounds, and the team reflects that diversity.

What We re Looking For:

We re looking for someone who can build positive relationships with young people and support them to reach their goals.

Essential:

  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people
  • Determination to achieve the best outcomes for those you support
  • Understanding of safeguarding, emotional wellbeing, and mental health
  • Knowledge of support planning
  • Understanding of risk assessment and risk management
  • Full UK driving licence

You ll also ideally be:
  • Creative and innovative in your approach to support
  • Resilient and flexible
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Confident working alone when required
  • A strong team player

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys managing their own caseload, organising their workload, and working closely with people on a daily basis.
