The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher with QTS to join a well-established and inclusive secondary school in the Sutton area from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, within a supportive department that values high academic standards, creativity, and strong pupil engagement. The school has a positive learning culture and is committed to raising attainment and fostering a love of reading and writing.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons across KS3 & KS4
Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations
Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress in line with departmental expectations
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Support pupils with varying learning needs, including SEN where required
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues

Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
Reflective, adaptable, and student-focused approach
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and high academic standards
