Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: Up to 50,000 per annum
Shift: Day shift
Location: Derbyshire
Contract type - Permanent

The Role
An established engineering manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support complex machining and fabrication projects within highly regulated industries, including defence, nuclear, and aerospace.
This role combines process development, technical support, and production planning, playing a key part in transitioning products from prototype through to full production while maintaining strict quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for high-integrity components
Ensure smooth transition of new and existing products from prototype to production
Create and maintain process documentation, including route cards and work instructions
Provide technical support to CNC machining and fabrication teams
Support CNC programming activities and tooling selection
Liaise with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across machining and fabrication cells
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific standards
Assist with ERP system updates and production planning activities

Essential Requirements
Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within a precision machining or fabrication environment
Strong understanding of CAD systems, ERP systems, and production workflows
Knowledge of milling, turning, and welding processes
Experience working with high-performance materials such as Inconel, Titanium, or Nimonic
Strong communication skills with a proactive problem-solving approach

Desirable
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
Apprenticeship background or time-served engineering experience
