Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher - Year 6 Intervention & Foundation Subjects

Location: Accrington, Lancashire
Start Date: 23rd February 2026
Contract: Full-time
Salary: MPS5 - UPS3 (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Accrington from 23rd February 2026.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced teacher with strong Year 6 knowledge, who is confident in raising attainment and supporting pupils through targeted intervention work.



The Role

  • Mornings:

    • Deliver targeted intervention sessions for Year 6 pupils

    • Focus on closing gaps in learning and preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments

    • Use assessment data effectively to plan and deliver high-impact support

  • Afternoons:

    • Teach foundation subjects to Year 6

    • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum

    • Promote creativity, enquiry, and independent learning



The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a qualified teacher with QTS

  • Have proven experience in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English and Maths intervention

  • Have a clear understanding of assessment, progress tracking, and pupil outcomes

  • Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations

  • Be committed to inclusive practice and supporting all learners

  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and parents
