Head of Drama

Pay: Paid to scale (Outer London) - temporary or permanent, salary or daily rate equivalent
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026 Contract: Full-time

Lead the Drama department and inspire students across all key stages.

Empowering Learning are recruiting a Head of Drama for a secondary school in Havering. This leadership role involves managing the Drama department, delivering high-quality Drama lessons across KS3-KS5, and driving pupil progression through an engaging and creative curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Drama department, including curriculum planning, staff support, and student development

  • Teach Drama across KS3-KS5, fostering performance, practical skills, and theory

  • Apply strong behaviour management and maintain organised classrooms

  • Support interventions, enrichment, and extra-curricular Drama activities

  • Monitor student progress, outcomes, and departmental performance

You will need:

  1. QTS and leadership experience in a Drama or performing arts department
