The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled HLTA to support teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is an exciting position for someone who is committed to inclusive practice and eager to make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead whole-class sessions and small-group teaching under teacher guidance

  • Deliver differentiated and targeted learning activities, including for pupils with SEND

  • Support personalised learning through adapted resources and evidence-based interventions

  • Provide mentoring and support to other classroom assistants

  • Contribute to a calm, positive and values-led classroom environment

  • Track and monitor pupil progress, contributing to planning and assessment

  • Promote independence, resilience and personal development

  • Work in partnership with teachers, families and external professionals

Person Specification

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Hold an HLTA qualification (or equivalent)

  • Have experience working with primary-aged pupils, ideally including SEN support

  • Are confident adapting learning for a wide range of abilities and needs

  • Possess strong communication, organisation and behaviour-management skills

  • Are reflective, compassionate and able to work collaboratively

  • Align with the school s ethos of respect, inclusion and high expectations
