This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Electrical Engineer who thrives on technical problem-solving and enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to installation, testing and commissioning. Unlike many senior engineering roles, this position remains heavily focused on engineering excellence and technical delivery rather than pure project management.

The Role

  • Carrying out electrical design verification and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Supporting installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to Electrical Engineers.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and clients.
  • Developing solutions involving instrumentation, industrial control systems, MCCs and PLC hardware.
  • Supporting ATEX and machinery safety compliance activities.
  • Travelling internationally to support customer projects, installations, commissioning and technical troubleshooting.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Strong industrial electrical engineering design experience
  • Experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Understanding of machinery safety, including Performance Level (PL) calculations and validation
  • Experience with industrial controls, instrumentation and communication protocols such as Profibus and AS-i
  • Practical installation, inspection, testing and commissioning experience
  • The ability to provide technical leadership and make sound engineering decisions
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required

Desirable Experience

  • Food, beverage, brewing, distilling or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • EPLAN and AutoCAD experience
  • Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding IEng or CEng status

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £55,000 salary
  • £455 per month car allowance
  • Hybrid working after successful completion of probation
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible holiday scheme
  • Pension scheme
  • International travel opportunities
  • Long-term career development and progression
