We are recruiting dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistants to work at a specialist school in Stevenage, supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex additional needs.

The role

Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to pupils' individual needs.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils with learning activities and classroom routines.
  • Encouraging communication, interaction, confidence and independence.
  • Providing individual and small-group support as directed by teaching staff.
  • Helping pupils develop social skills and engage positively with others.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Following individual learning plans, school policies and staff guidance.
  • Assisting with personal care where required, in accordance with training and school procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.
