Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber

SALARY: £40,000 – £46,000 per annum + Benefits

This is an opportunity to join a growing team providing dependable residential servicing, repairs and maintenance across a varied field territory.

The Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber will combine gas safety, boiler and heating diagnostics with practical plumbing maintenance, helping residents receive a comprehensive first-time-fix service.

Working directly with customers, the Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber will explain technical issues clearly and complete accurate digital job records, parts orders and compliance certificates.

Regular training and progression support the Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber while maintaining high standards of safety, service and workmanship.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Domestic Gas Engineer / Plumber include:

  • Boiler Servicing and Repairs: Diagnose faults, service, maintain and repair domestic gas boilers, central heating systems and gas appliances including cookers, fires and meters
  • Heating System Diagnostics: Diagnose, maintain and repair heating controls, pumps, cylinders, radiators and valves
  • Gas Safety and Compliance: Complete gas safety checks, issue CP12 Landlord Gas Safety Certificates, trace and repair gas leaks, and follow Gas Safe regulations and health and safety procedures
  • Plumbing Maintenance and Repairs: Identify and repair water leaks and blocked internal pipework, excluding drainage works, and repair or replace taps, toilets, showers, basins and kitchen sinks
  • Power Flushing: Power-flush central heating systems to improve efficiency and resolve circulation issues
  • Customer Communication: Deliver high-quality customer service and explain technical problems clearly to residents
  • Digital Job Administration: Complete job sheets, parts orders and compliance certificates accurately using the digital job management system

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Current Gas Safe registration with valid domestic ACS qualifications, including CCN1 and CENWAT as a minimum
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent), or previous domestic plumbing maintenance experience
  • Previous independent domestic gas engineering experience, including complex breakdown diagnostics
  • Full, clean UK manual driving licence
  • Own hand tools

DESIRABLE

  • Valid G3 qualification for Unvented Hot Water Systems
  • Experience or certifications in LPG systems, oil-fired systems, air-source heat pumps or solar thermal technology
  • Boiler installation experience
