Social Media Lead

We are looking for a creative Social Media Lead to shape our social media presence and bring Victim Support's work to life.

We are looking for a Social Media Lead to bring our charity's work, campaigns and impact to life: shaping and grow Victim Support's social media presence, creating high-quality content, and helping us reach, support and achieve change for more victims and witnesses.

This is a new, part-time role, home-based in England and Wales, with some travel for events and meetings required.

About the role

As Social Media Lead, you will lead Victim Support's social media presence and use creativity, audience insight and evaluation to make our channels as engaging and effective as possible.

You will plan and create content across formats, from sharp, accessible copy and eye-catching graphics to engaging video, and develop campaigns that amplify victims' and witnesses' voices, strengthen our brand and inspire people to support our work.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, create and schedule engaging, on-brand content and copy across our social media channels.
• Create and edit graphics and video content that help important messages cut through.
• Work with Design, Digital, External Affairs and Media, Fundraising and Business Development colleagues to deliver creative, innovative campaigns.
• Maintain our social media channels, respond to queries and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Use audience insight, reporting and analytics to improve reach, engagement and impact.
• Help embed clear social media guidance and a consistent, compelling tone of voice.
• Advise colleagues, local teams and senior leaders on social media approaches, opportunities and risks.
• Support social media activity as part of crisis communications.

About you

You will need:

• A track record of managing and growing organisational social media channels to achieve strategic change.
• Strong creative and content creation skills, including writing high-quality copy and creating and editing engaging graphics and video.
• A strong understanding of digital communications, content strategy and campaign planning within a values-driven organisation.
• A good understanding of brand management, including tone of voice, visual identity and consistent messaging.
• Experience using social media metrics and analytics to evaluate performance and recommend improvements.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, social media management, monitoring and scheduling tools, and design and content-editing software.
• The ability to work collaboratively and advise colleagues and internal stakeholders, including senior leaders.
• Awareness of safeguarding, privacy and risk management in online spaces, particularly when working with sensitive topics and vulnerable audiences.
• A demonstrable commitment to Victim Support's values and to equality, diversity and inclusion.
