Workshop Recruitment is working with a well-established specialist automotive business looking for a skilled Workshop Technician to join its experienced workshop team. This is a varied hands-on role working on historic vehicles, from servicing and repairs through to restoration, rebuilds and event or race preparation. You ll use practical mechanical expertise to diagnose faults rather than simply replace parts, making this an ideal opportunity for a multi-skilled technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance on vintage vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical faults using practical experience and technical knowledge.
• Report, investigate and rectify vehicle issues effectively.
• Undertake restoration, rebuild and event or race preparation work.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Complete timesheets, inspection records and other production documentation.
• Keep workshop areas clean, organised and compliant with Health & Safety requirements.
• Monitor job times and proactively flag potential delays or overruns.

Skills & Knowledge Required

• Apprenticeship served or 2 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical engineering and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with classic, vintage, rally or race vehicles is desirable.
• Ability to diagnose faults without reliance on electronic diagnostic systems.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of issues.
• Commitment to quality, deadlines and safe working practices.
