Join a fast-paced, time-critical aviation logistics operation coordinating urgent worldwide import and export shipments across air, road, sea and on-board courier (hand-carry) services within a 24/7 operational environment.

The position is heavily AOG / Aircraft On Ground driven (AOG experience desirable) and involves reacting to urgent aircraft-on-ground situations, often working to extremely tight deadlines to minimise aircraft downtime. You will be involved in every stage of the forwarding process, including collections, transport bookings, customs entries, documentation, and liaising with overseas agents and customers worldwide. Previous AOG experience would be advantageous; however, candidates with a solid freight forwarding background and the ability to operate with urgency and precision will also be considered.

With day and night shift opportunities available, this is an excellent role for someone with strong freight forwarding, customs and international shipping experience who thrives when accuracy, urgency and customer service matter.

SALARY: £34,000 to £45,000 per annum, includes overtime and on-call hours (depending on experience) + Annual Bonus + Benefits

2 JOBS AVAILABLE – DAY & NIGHT SHIFTS

DAY SHIFT HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm + Weekend on-call rota (every 5-6 weeks)

NIGHT SHIFT HOURS: Monday to Thursday, 2pm – 12:00am

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Import Export Coordinator / Freight Forwarder to join a growing freight forwarding operation specialising in time-critical aviation logistics and urgent Aircraft on Ground movements.

As an Import Export Coordinator / Freight Forwarder you will manage end-to-end multimodal shipments, coordinating collections, transport bookings, UK customs entries and documentation while liaising with airlines, hauliers, overseas agents and customers worldwide.

The Import Export Coordinator / Freight Forwarder role operates in a fast-moving environment where organisation, accuracy and rapid problem-solving are essential. Previous AOG experience would be advantageous; however, candidates with a strong freight forwarding and import/export background who can operate with urgency and precision will also be considered.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Import Export Coordinator / Freight Forwarder include:

• Multimodal Shipment Coordination: Manage worldwide import and export movements across air, sea, road and courier services
• AOG Response Handling: React quickly to urgent Aircraft on Ground situations, coordinating time-critical movements to help minimise aircraft downtime
• Transport Bookings: Arrange flights, haulage, collections and courier services with carriers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Customs Processing: Prepare and submit UK import and export Customs & Excise entries accurately and within required timescales
• Freight Documentation: Complete AWBs, bills of lading, delivery paperwork and other import/export documentation
• Customer and Agent Liaison: Communicate with customers, airlines, suppliers and international partners to provide reliable shipment updates and high levels of service
• Dangerous Goods Support: Assist with hazardous and dangerous goods documentation where required
• Systems and Operational Support: Maintain accurate shipment records within internal systems and support the wider team with day-to-day freight operations and time-critical logistics

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong background in freight forwarding and import/export operations
• Experience dealing with UK import and export Customs & Excise entries
• Previous experience in a transport, freight or shipping coordination role
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and logistics systems
• Proactive, reliable and team-focused approach
• Previous AOG / Aircraft on Ground experience would be advantageous
