Salary: £40,000 £45,000
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Hybrid: 2 3 days per week in the office
Contract: Initial 3-month FTC

The Role

A hands-on payroll opportunity supporting the Payroll & Benefits Manager with the end-to-end delivery of three UK payrolls, alongside benefits administration, reconciliations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll processing for c.850 UK employees.
• Process deductions, statutory payments, pensions, bonuses, tax codes and student loans.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support P45s, P60s, P11Ds, RTI and other statutory requirements.
• Administer employee benefits including pensions, healthcare, cycle-to-work and reward schemes.
• Handle employee payroll and benefits queries.
• Support payroll reporting, audits and process improvement projects.
• Work closely with the Payroll Manager and wider People team.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong hands-on UK payroll experience, ideally at Senior Payroll Specialist/Deputy Manager level.
• Good end-to-end knowledge of PAYE, NI, RTI, statutory payments and pensions.
• Comfortable working with high-volume payrolls and reconciliations.
• Some benefits administration experience.
• Strong Excel and payroll reporting skills.
• Can come from either an in-house or payroll bureau background.
• Brain Payroll experience is beneficial but not required.
• Accurate, organised and confident working with minimal supervision.

Ideal for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to step towards Payroll Manager level, with strong potential for the role to become permanent.
