Paraplanner

London £45,000-£50,000 + Up to 12% Bonus

An established Chartered financial planning firm is looking for an experienced, Diploma-qualified Paraplanner to join its London team.

This is a technically focused position offering involvement throughout the financial planning process, including the opportunity to attend client meetings. You will conduct research, formulate recommendations, complete cash-flow modelling and produce high-quality suitability reports while working closely with experienced Financial Planners.

The business also offers genuine long-term progression. Paraplanners are supported towards Chartered status, and three people have progressed from paraplanning into financial advice roles during the past year.

The role

You will take ownership of cases and provide comprehensive technical support to Financial Planners and their clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting detailed financial planning research and analysis
  • Formulating suitable planning recommendations
  • Preparing pre-meeting analysis and documentation
  • Producing technically accurate suitability reports
  • Completing cash-flow modelling
  • Attending client meetings and taking detailed notes
  • Liaising directly with clients when appropriate
  • Working closely with Financial Planners and the Client Service Team
  • Managing your own workflow and deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate client records
  • Keeping up to date with technical, market and regulatory developments
  • Contributing to projects and process improvements

What we are looking for

You should have:

  • At least two years' paraplanning experience
  • The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions and investments
  • Experience conducting research and formulating recommendations
  • Experience producing high-quality suitability reports
  • Knowledge of cash-flow modelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage your own workload with limited supervision
  • A genuine interest in continuing your professional development

Strong knowledge of Intelliflo would be particularly beneficial.

The firm is open to career Paraplanners as well as candidates who may eventually want to move into financial advice. Those interested in advice would ordinarily be expected to establish themselves for at least one to two years before progressing.
