About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy vehicle logistics operation based in Corby.

This is a hands-on role working within a busy vehicle compound. You will be responsible for checking vehicles, managing vehicle movements and ensuring vehicles are correctly prepared and accounted for before being collected and dispatched.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the automotive and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Check vehicles against collection and release documentation.
• Verify vehicle details, load numbers and driver identification.
• Direct transporter lorries and recovery vehicles into the correct loading lanes.
• Manage the flow of vehicles through the loading area.
• Ensure the correct vehicles are allocated to the correct transporter.
• Carry out visual checks of vehicles before collection.
• Ensure vehicles are positioned safely and correctly for loading.
• Check that vehicles are appropriately spaced and secured before leaving site.
• Communicate with drivers, gatehouse staff and yard teams.
• Report any vehicle, documentation or loading discrepancies.
• Help ensure the vehicle dispatch process runs efficiently and safely.
• Follow all site health & safety procedures and company guidelines.

About You

• Full UK Driving License

Experience

Previous experience in vehicle logistics, transport, warehousing, yard operations, vehicle compounds or a similar environment would be advantageous.

However, full training will be provided, so we are also interested in candidates with the right attitude and work ethic who are looking to develop their experience within the automotive and logistics sector.
