Practice Bookkeeper

Job Description

A highly successful and well-established chartered accountancy practice in Folkestone is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its growing, supportive team.

Working with a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies across Kent and the South East, you'll play a key, hands-on role delivering bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns and wider accounting services.

The firm has built an excellent reputation for quality, client relationships and staff development, with a supportive team culture and low staff turnover.

The Role

You will manage your own portfolio of clients, providing a range of bookkeeping and accounting services, including:

  • Bookkeeping and processing invoices, payments, income and receipts
  • Preparing management accounts, P&L, balance sheets and cash flow statements
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations and monitoring account balances
  • Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies
  • Providing cloud accounting support using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and similar software

Requirements

  • AAT studying/qualified or qualified by experience
  • Ideally 3-5+ years' bookkeeping experience, gained in practice, a bureau or self-employed environment
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or KashFlow would be advantageous

Benefits
