Planning Coordinator

Hours: Flex - Monday to Thursday (8hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am and Fridays (6hrs) start time between 7.00am and 8.30am (38hr week)
Overview:
Working in a modern, purpose-built manufacturing facility, we now require a Planning Coordinator to join the team on 12 month fixed term contract. This role will report directly in to the Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Design Department and Stock Controller to order relevant material against budget against the bill of materials (BOM). Assist with scheduling and reporting requirements ensuring that orders, costs and dates are inputted on to relevant systems and managed in accordance with the production schedule.
Key responsibilities of the Planning Coordinator role:

• Coordinate with the Machine Shop Manager with regards to Production Planning.
• Offer creative and practical solutions to technical and logistical problems.
• Purchase machine components and materials in conjunction with the BOM ensuring cost efficiency and all relevant documentation is completed accurately.
• Build new stock forecasts and update customer forecasts.
• Monitor supplier lead-times and performance.
• Produce performance related reports based on actual vs planned production performance.
• Take ownership of planning requirements in the absence of the Planning & Purchasing Manager.
• Liaise with customers regarding forecasts, deliveries, order enquiries and any other issues.
• To progress customer orders and highlight any requirements to relevant departments.

The ideal candidate / Planning Coordinator may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Previous experience in a production planning within a production, engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good IT skills to encompass Microsoft Office, Outlook and FileMaker
