We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Head of Sales to lead the UK sales operation of a highly respected engineering organisation operating within the Wastewater, environmental, infrastructure, and industrial process sectors.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a well-established market position while driving the next phase of growth through strategic leadership, business development, team development, and key account management.

The Opportunity

As Head of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the UK commercial strategy whilst managing and growing a team of technical sales professionals.

You'll work closely with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities, develop key customer relationships, improve market share, and deliver sustainable revenue growth across municipal and industrial markets.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in major project opportunities and key customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

• Develop and execute the UK sales strategy.
• Create and manage annual revenue forecasts and sales plans.
• Drive profitable sales growth across existing and new markets.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and future opportunities.
• Establish and track key sales KPIs.
• Lead pricing and commercial negotiations.

Business Development

• Identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Build relationships with major end users, utilities, contractors and consultants.
• Develop long-term strategic partnerships.
• Increase market penetration across the UK.
• Generate and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor and develop the sales team.
• Create a high-performance culture.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
• Support recruitment and future expansion of the commercial team.

Key Account Management

• Manage relationships with strategic customers and partners.
• Drive repeat business and long-term framework agreements.
• Act as the senior commercial contact for key accounts.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in a Head of Sales, Sales Director, Commercial Manager, National Sales Manager or Senior Sales Leadership role.
• Experience selling technical, engineered or capital equipment solutions.
• Demonstrable track record of achieving significant revenue growth.
• Experience developing and leading successful sales teams.
• Ability to manage large and complex sales cycles.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
