The project portfolio includes major healthcare environments such as Guy's Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Marsden and Charing Cross Hospital, alongside data centre and other critical infrastructure projects.

The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for an Intermediate Engineer who wants to move beyond standard commercial building services and develop experience on technically challenging, complex projects.

You'll support the mechanical design team across projects from concept through to construction, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary design teams. You'll be given increasing responsibility for your own packages while developing your technical and client-facing skills.

What You'll Be Doing
Design and specify mechanical building services including heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, drainage and medical gases
Produce design calculations, equipment schedules and technical submissions
Develop schematic and layout drawings alongside CAD/Revit teams
Prepare technical reports, design narratives and tender/construction information
Undertake site surveys and inspections
Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers and external consultants
Attend design and client meetings and support senior engineers with project delivery
Carry out compliance checks against Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, HTMs and HBNs
Contribute to maintaining and improving design quality across the team

About You
You'll ideally have:
A degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Experience delivering mechanical building services design within a consultancy or design-and-build environment
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant CIBSE guidance
Experience with design software such as IES, Hevacomp, Revit, AutoCAD or Excel
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team
An ambition to work towards professional membership with CIBSE, IMechE or IHEEM

Experience working on healthcare or other complex building environments would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Why Apply?
Work on technically complex and genuinely interesting projects
Gain exposure to critical healthcare, research, education and infrastructure environments
Join a specialist engineering team with strong technical expertise
Hybrid working with a typical 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
Ongoing training and professional development
Support towards Chartership and professional memberships
Strong benefits package including enhanced pension, life insurance and private GP access

If you're an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer looking to develop your career on projects where engineering quality, resilience and technical problem-solving really matter, this is an opportunity to build experience that will set you apart from engineers working solely on conventional building services projects.

Whether you're working in the larger corporate companies or a small SME this is certainly one to take note of. Please don't hesitate to apply or get in touch for further info on the email below, we can arrange a confidential conversation anytime to suit you.
