An excellent opportunity has arisen for a self-sufficient Lead Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor focused on the restoration and preservation of architectural heritage.
Our client combines traditional craftsmanship with modern construction management techniques, delivering high-quality restoration and specialist works across significant buildings and heritage projects.
The successful QS will take commercial ownership of a circa 2m refurbishment and upgrade project at a well known hotel, offering special golf and spa facilities. This is a key role where you will be expected to operate autonomously, manage the commercial function and work closely with the wider project team.
You will be responsible for the full commercial management of the project, including:
We're looking for a strong, hands-on QS or Senior QS who is confident working independently and doesn't need to be heavily managed.
Heritage, restoration or conservation experience would be highly advantageous, although strong main contractor experience within refurbishment, fit-out or specialist construction will also be considered.
More importantly, you'll need to be someone who:
The role will initially involve a strong presence in Luton, with the hotel project expected to run for approximately 18 months, minimum.
The expectation is 3 days per week in Luton and 2 days per week working across ongoing London sites.
There is some flexibility around home working where genuinely required, but this isn't a role suited to someone looking for 2-4 days working from home each week. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on and visible within the business.
This is an opportunity to join a specialist restoration contractor working on an impressive heritage project, with genuine autonomy and ownership of the commercial function.
If you're an experienced QS who enjoys being trusted to run with a project, make decisions and take responsibility, this could be an excellent next step.
