SALARY: £31,000 - £34,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: Reading, Berkshire / Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, including Thursday team days

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

WORKING HOURS: 35 Hours per Week, 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

 

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity to join the company as a Marketing Officer, delivering engaging direct marketing campaigns that inspire supporters to take action and help maximise income across cash appeals, raffles and mid-value giving programmes.

Working as the Marketing Officer, you will manage multi-channel campaigns from planning through to delivery, ensuring activity is completed on time, within budget and achieves strong results.

As the Marketing Officer, you will use your campaign management, copywriting, analysis and stakeholder management skills to support supporter engagement, campaign performance and continuous improvement.

 

DUTIES

Your duties as the Marketing Officer include:

  • Campaign Delivery: Manage acquisition and retention campaigns from planning through to delivery, ensuring activity is completed on time, within budget and focused on maximising response and value
  • Campaign Briefing: Write clear briefs for creative, data, response handling and supporter care activity, ensuring approval processes are followed and stakeholders are kept informed
  • Project Management: Manage non-campaign specific projects when required, including stewardship and retention activity, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales and budgets
  • Campaign Planning: Input into the strategic direction of single gifts activity and make recommendations to improve schemes, processes and future campaign performance
  • Analysis and Reporting: Conduct regular campaign analysis, produce post-campaign wrap-up reports and make practical recommendations for improvement
  • Supplier Management: Manage external suppliers to ensure quality work is delivered within agreed schedules and at a competitive cost
  • Digital Coordination: Work with digital colleagues to ensure product-specific content is kept up to date and digital activity is considered across campaigns and projects
  • Budget Management: Manage individual project and campaign budgets, follow financial processes and provide accurate income and expenditure information to support planning and forecasting
  • Team Support: Line manage and work alongside a Campaign Executive on selected projects, supporting their professional development

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in a direct marketing environment, delivering varied projects across multiple channels simultaneously
  • Experience managing project spend and working with different internal teams
  • Experience working with external suppliers
  • Proven understanding of direct marketing principles and techniques, including briefing and interpreting analysis
  • Some knowledge of print and production
  • Up to date knowledge of PCI, the Data Protection Act, the Gambling Act 2005, Charity Commission guidance and Institute of Fundraising Good Practice
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to manage several projects at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Literacy, numeracy and Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Creative and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in environments where dogs may be present
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

  • Diploma in Fundraising and/or Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in the charity sector
