Deputy Children's Manager - Residential Childcare

Salary: 41,036.49 - 41,651.39 per year
Working Pattern: 2:4 shift pattern with sleep-ins

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Children's Manager to support the leadership of a residential childcare home and help provide high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people.

Your Responsibilities
As Deputy Children's Manager, you will:
Lead care practices within the home and deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
Oversee staff supervision, development and performance.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
Work directly with children and young people to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
Plan shifts, allocate resources and support smooth day-to-day operations.
Support the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans.
Work collaboratively with external professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.
Promote an inclusive, nurturing and stable home environment.
Provide effective leadership and support to the residential care team.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
At least 1 year's experience in a supervisory or management role within residential care.
At least 2 years' experience working in residential childcare.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
Willingness and ability to complete a Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification.
Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice and safeguarding.
Proven team leadership, organisation and delegation skills.
Strong knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks relating to residential care.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
A full UK driving licence.
Resilience, adaptability and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable Requirements
Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management.
Experience managing staff performance and leading team development.

This is a full-time position working a 2:4 shift pattern with sleep-ins.
