Catering & Butler Supervisor

Cambridge £29,539 per annum Full Time Permanent 37.5 Hours per Week

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality supervisor to lead a dedicated front of house team, delivering exceptional service across formal dining, conferences, events, meetings and daily catering operations.

Working within one of the University's renowned Colleges, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of customer service while supporting and developing a team committed to excellence.

As Butler's Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of front of house catering services, ensuring every event and service is delivered to the highest possible standard. You'll supervise the Pantry team, coordinate functions, maintain excellent presentation standards and help create memorable experiences for guests, staff and visitors.

• Lead and supervise the front of house catering team.
• Ensure the smooth delivery of internal and external events, meetings and functions.
• Oversee the daily operation of the dining and café service.
• Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces to required specifications.
• Maintain exceptional presentation, cleanliness and customer service standards.
• Plan workloads using function schedules and event requirements.
• Ensure allergen information is communicated accurately and effectively.
• Manage stock levels of catering consumables, equipment and staff uniforms.
• Supervise and support casual team members during events.
• Deliver team briefings, training and ongoing staff development.
• Assist with wine cellar management, including stock control and monthly stock takes.
• Work closely with Catering Management and Kitchen teams to ensure seamless service.
• Support bar operations when required.
• Attend major events and represent the catering department professionally.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in hospitality, catering or front of house supervision.
• Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
• A confident leader who enjoys motivating and developing a team.
• Highly organised with excellent planning and communication skills.
• Able to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work a rota including weekends and evenings when required.
• Knowledgeable in food hygiene and allergen awareness.
• Professional with excellent attention to detail.

• 37.5 hours per week
• 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis
• Monday to Sunday
• Mostly straight shifts, with varying start and finish times depending on business needs

• £29,539 per annum
