Interim Health and Safety Advisor
Duration: 2 Months
Day Rate: 350 (Outside IR35)
Location: Fawley, Hampshire
We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support a turnaround project involving major maintenance activities at an oil refinery. The project spans from late August to October, incorporating extensive inspection, mechanical, and pipework tasks in demanding conditions.
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure permits are in place for confined space, working at height, and mechanical tasks.
- Monitor safety protocols during ducting, furnace, chimney, and relay repairs, including working from height and confined space operations.
- Engage with contractors and factory personnel to uphold safety standards throughout all activities.
- Provide real-time safety advice, challenge unsafe behaviours, and facilitate safety communication.
- Support the site management team in personal safety improvements and safety system adherence.
You will need:
- Proven experience managing safety in heavy industry, construction, or refinery shutdowns.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to confined space, working at height, and mechanical repairs.
- An understanding of personal safety management systems and permit systems.
