Trainee Mechanical Fitter

Hours: Monday to Friday

Are you hands on, mechanically minded, and looking to learn a skilled trade?

We're recruiting for a Trainee Mechanical Fitter to join a busy rail freight maintenance team in Grangemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining specialist engineering skills through a structured training programme.

No rail experience is required. If you have an interest in mechanics, enjoy practical work, and have experience using tools such as spanners, torque wrenches, or grinders, we'd like to hear from you.

• Starting salary of £27,000
• Structured 12 month training programme
• Pay increases at 6 and 12 months
• Plenty of overtime available
• Overtime paid at 1.5x and 2x rates
• Monday to Friday working pattern
• Long term career progression within the rail industry

You'll learn how to inspect, repair, maintain, and refurbish rail freight wagons while working alongside experienced fitters and engineers.

The role is physically demanding and includes mechanical fitting, fault finding, fabrication, repairs, and general wagon maintenance.

• Interest in mechanics, engineering, vehicles, or machinery
• Experience using hand tools such as spanners and torque wrenches
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to work safely as part of a team

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to pass a pre employment medical
• Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol screening
