Quantity Surveyor

£350 - £450 daily

Job Description

A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major highways programme across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team, working on a significant civil engineering project and supporting the commercial management of works from project delivery through to final account.

Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, the Commercial Manager and operational teams, you'll play an important role in cost management, subcontract administration and NEC contract management, helping to ensure strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the commercial performance of highways and civil engineering projects
  • Produce and maintain CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
  • Support the procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
  • Assist with compensation events, variations and change control
  • Administer NEC contracts and maintain contractual records
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow and commercial performance
  • Support the agreement of final accounts with clients and subcontractors
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Work closely with operational teams to provide commercial support throughout project delivery


Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts
  • Experience managing or assisting with subcontract accounts
  • Ability to produce CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a collaborative project team
