Housing Support Worker
Join our dedicated team as a Housing Support Worker in Peterborough. This role offers a unique opportunity to support vulnerable individuals, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living.

- Hours: Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide person-centred support to individuals within supported housing services.
- Assist service users in accessing essential services such as benefits, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
- Complete and update computer records
- Ensure visitor are signed in/out of the venue
- Help clients develop crucial independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and managing tenancy agreements.
- Conduct regular welfare checks and maintain detailed and accurate case records.
- Ensure the promotion of safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing at all times.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and community organisations.
- Support tenants in sustaining their accommodation and reducing the risk of homelessness.
- Respond effectively to challenging situations and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in support, housing, care.
- Empathetic, caring, and professional approach to work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficient IT skills and experience in maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality principles.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Housing, or a related field.
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of homelessness, tenancy sustainment, mental health, or substance misuse support services.
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
