Salary: £42,000 - £48,000

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a Uro-Gynae Nurse Specialist to join its growing Community Gynaecology Service across Birmingham and Sandwell.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist community-based gynaecology services, providing assessment, investigation, treatment, and ongoing management for women with urogynaecological conditions.

Working alongside Consultants, GPwERs, Specialist Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals, you will lead nurse-led clinics and provide expert support for patients with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other pelvic floor disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an autonomous caseload of patients with urogynaecological conditions

  • Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including bladder diaries, pelvic examinations, and pad testing

  • Perform and interpret urodynamic studies and bladder scans where competent

  • Undertake catheterisation procedures and long-term catheter management

  • Fit, manage, and review vaginal pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse

  • Deliver conservative management programmes including pelvic floor training and bladder retraining

  • Provide specialist patient education, advice, and emotional support

  • Act as a key worker coordinating patient care across multidisciplinary services

  • Participate in MDT meetings, clinical governance, audits, and service development initiatives

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure high standards of patient care and safety

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • NMC Registered Nurse

  • Extensive post-registration experience within a relevant specialist area

  • Experience working within Gynaecology, Urology, or Continence Services

  • Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills

  • Ability to work autonomously within an agreed scope of practice

  • Experience managing complex patient caseloads

  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between clinic locations

Desirable

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience

  • Specialist qualification in Urogynaecology or Continence Care

  • Accredited Continence or Urodynamics qualification

  • Independent Prescriber qualification

  • Experience supporting learners and junior colleagues

  • Experience working across community and secondary care pathways
