As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support teaching and learning throughout the school. You will lead classes when required, deliver intervention programmes, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during teacher absence
• Support pupils' academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development
• Lead targeted interventions to improve attainment and progress
• Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and assessment activities
• Promote positive behaviour management and high expectations
• Support children with varying learning needs and abilities
• Foster a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents

To be considered for this HLTA position in Pontefract, you will ideally have:

• HLTA status or equivalent classroom experience
• Previous experience working in a UK primary school
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Knowledge of the primary curriculum
• Experience supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to education
• A passion for helping children succeed and reach their potential
