Tax Accountant

Butler Rose is partnering with a highly respected organisation that operates across multiple entities and international jurisdictions.

Working as part of a well-established tax function, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of UK and international tax matters across multiple legal entities, supporting a complex organisation with a significant global presence. The role combines hands-on VAT compliance and advisory work with wider involvement in corporation tax, employment taxes, planning, forecasting and business partnering, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to broaden their technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage VAT compliance activities across multiple entities.
• Provide advice and guidance on VAT matters, including partial exemption and reverse charge arrangements.
• Review transactions to ensure correct VAT treatment and compliance.
• Prepare and reconcile VAT control accounts and support VAT reporting requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and tax planning activities.
• Assist with corporation tax compliance and returns.
• Provide support across employment taxes and international tax matters.
• Contribute to year-end audits and preparation of tax provisions.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors when required.
• Support contractor employment status assessments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
• Deliver tax-related guidance and training to colleagues across the wider business.

Candidate Spec

• PQ or Newly Qualified CTA/ACCA/ACA/ATT
• Strong VAT knowledge
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
