SALARY: £32,347 to £34,317 pro rata (Grade 9) (Actual Salary for Part-Time Hours is: £25,877 to £27,453 per annum + Benefits

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Education Programme Development Officer supporting adult community learning and work-based supported internship provision for young people and learners with additional needs.
As an Education Programme Development Officer you will teach and assess as a qualified tutor, while supporting programme delivery, learner progression, quality assurance, safeguarding and pastoral support.
The Education Programme Development Officer will also help manage tutors, monitor teaching and learning standards, build effective partnerships and support inclusive, high-quality learning across community and workplace settings.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Education Programme Development Officer include:
- Programme Development: Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of adult community learning programmes within a defined locality and curriculum theme
- Teaching and Assessment: Undertake teaching and assessment duties as agreed, supporting learners to progress and achieve positive outcomes
- Tutor Support: Supervise, advise and motivate tutors, including performance support, training needs, absence management and recruitment input
- Quality Assurance: Carry out observations of learning and teaching and monitor actions to improve standards and support Ofsted readiness
- Internal Verification: Provide internal quality assurance within relevant subject areas, including assessment, verification and accreditation activity
- Partnership Working: Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams, external agencies, employers, families and education partners
- Learner Support: Provide pastoral and safeguarding support, helping learners access safe, inclusive and effective learning opportunities
- Data Monitoring: Support learner recruitment, retention, achievement, progression and the monitoring of programme performance against agreed targets
- Service Improvement: Contribute to self-assessment, improvement planning, development groups and quality assurance procedures across the service
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Teaching Experience: Teaching experience within a post-19 education environment
- Teaching Qualification: A current qualification to teach within the post-16 education sector
- Assessor Award: A current assessor award or higher
- Programme Development: Experience developing and sustaining accredited or non-accredited community and workplace-based adult learning programmes
- Quality Improvement: Experience improving achievement and the quality of teaching and learning
- Partnership Working: Successful experience working with other agencies, partners and individuals
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and safe learner procedures in a learning environment
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
- Flexibility and Travel: Ability to travel as required and work flexibly across service functions
DESIRABLE
- Post-16 Experience: Teaching experience within a 16 to 18 education environment
- Staff Management: Experience recruiting, developing and managing staff
- Peer Support: Experience delivering peer-to-peer support and supporting the development of others
- Learning Observations: Experience of observing learning and teaching
- Marketing Awareness: Some experience of marketing and communications
- Sector Funding: Awareness of 16 to 18 and post-19 education sector funding structures and methodology
- IT Skills: IT skills to Level 2
- Subject Specialism: A specialism in a priority subject area
