Health and Safety Advisor

Health and Safety Advisor (2 Days/week)
Day Rate: 500 (Outside IR35)
Location: East Hertfordshire
Duration: 6 Months

Are you experienced in managing health, safety, and environmental challenges within water utilities or similar infrastructure projects? Would you enjoy supporting a vital contract that ensures safe operations across multiple sites?

We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Advisor to support a water utility framework, specialising in construction, maintenance activities, and operational safety.

This flexible role involves working two days per week, with responsibilities including:

• Conducting site inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Reviewing risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), delivering toolbox talks, and providing practical safety advice to operational teams.
• Supporting compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation, including CDM 2015.
• Assisting with safety audits, reports, and ensuring framework standards are maintained.
• Supporting emergency response planning and safety improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have:

• NEBOSH General or Construction certificate and membership of IOSH.
• Strong understanding of construction and maintenance safety challenges, especially within water frameworks such as Affinity Water, Thames Water, or South East Water.
• Experience in conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Full UK driving license and flexibility for site visits.
