SALARY: £26,403 to £28,142 per annum
HOURS: 37 per week Monday to Friday (Early Starts and Early Finishes)
BASED: Lancing, West Sussex
OVERVIEW
We are currently recruiting for an energetic and committed Kerbside Loader Operative / Waste Collection Operative / Refuse Loader to join our friendly team and work on kerbside collections of Food Waste, Recycling, Green Waste and Refuse.
Working as the Waste Collection Operative / Refuse Loader you will be part of a crew of two operatives and one driver and will be responsible for loading our waste trucks from households and local businesses, ensuring a quality kerbside service in the Adur and Worthing areas.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have some experience of working in waste management although training will be given.
Training will be given in basic health and safety and manual handling.
ABOUT US
We are Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils and in September 2026 we will be launching our Domestic Food Waste collection service to comply with the government s Simpler Recycling regulations, which aim to create greater consistency in the way recycling is collected across the country, keeping our local environment clean and safe whilst also reducing volumes going to landfill.
Our new Domestic Food Waste collection will run alongside our existing Recycling, Green Waste and Refuse collection services.
