Job Title: Teacher of Maths

Salary: MPS/UPS (Classroom Teachers' Pay Scale)
Contract: Full-time (STPCD)
About the Role
A secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a Teacher of Maths to deliver high-quality teaching and support strong pupil outcomes. You will join a supportive department committed to high standards, progress, and engaging learning.
Purpose
To provide high-quality teaching and ensure pupils achieve well in a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment, in line with STPCD.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Maths classes as allocated
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons
- Set and mark homework regularly
- Track, assess, and report on pupil progress
- Support behaviour and attendance standards
- Contribute to curriculum planning and schemes of work
- Attend meetings and parents' evenings
- Support pupils with additional needs
- Act as a Form Tutor
- Contribute to enrichment and extra-curricular activities
- Work as directed by the Headteacher
Person Specification
- QTS or equivalent
- Strong Maths subject knowledge
- Ability to teach effectively across abilities
- Commitment to high standards and student progress
- Good classroom management skills
- Team player with strong communication skills
