Location: Salford, M5
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: 14.25 - 16.65 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella)
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (30-minute lunch)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (with a view to continuing into the new academic year)

Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the M5 area of Salford. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils across KS2 who have a range of SEND and SEMH needs, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, one-to-one support, and small group work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning, and supporting both their academic and emotional development. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can commit long-term and potentially continue into the new academic year.

Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils across KS2 as a Teaching Assistant within the classroom and during interventions
    Provide one-to-one support as a Teaching Assistant for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs
    Deliver small group interventions as a Teaching Assistant to support learning and progress
    Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and other additional needs as a Teaching Assistant
    Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation as a Teaching Assistant
    Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs as a Teaching Assistant
    Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff as a Teaching Assistant
    Support pupils during lessons, breaktimes, transitions and structured interventions as a Teaching Assistant
    Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and their families where appropriate
    Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times as a Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant - Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker
    Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
    Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
    Patient, resilient and nurturing approach as a Teaching Assistant
    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
