Behind the gas network are the systems that keep everything flowing. When they're working properly, they run as they should. When they re not, they need attention quickly.
That s where you come in.
As an Electrical Engineering Apprentice, your job will be to help keep those systems working the way they should. This is a Level 3 apprenticeship designed to build your skills, so you can maintain and repair the network that supplies gas to homes and businesses.
Most of your learning will happen out in the field, alongside experienced engineers, where you ll get stuck into work like:

Part of your apprenticeship will be spent at our York Training Centre, helping you understand the systems you ll be working on in the field. In year two, you ll begin working towards an HNC in Electrical Engineering. This will help build a deeper understanding of electrical systems, how they re designed and why they behave the way they do.
Over time, you ll go from supporting jobs to understanding the work and carrying it out with more independence.
