SEN Casework Officer

Huntingdon

Contract
£280 per day limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35

Our client is looking for an experienced SEN Casework Officer

Remote working but to attend the office if required

It is Hybrid but 95% from home unless there is a business need

We are looking for highly experienced officers with a background of dealing with multiple demands and competing priorities. They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have casework experience

1. To manage the statutory processes associated with Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments/Plans for an identified caseload of children and young people.

2. Prepare and present cases to panels as appropriate and provide feedback to schools, parents and

professionals. Implement outcomes from panels seeking creative solutions where required.

3. Identify issues, negotiate and resolve problems arising from casework and inter-agency work.

4. Draft Education Health and Care Plans and attend planning meetings as and when necessary. Assist

in the monitoring of children and young people s progress through the Statutory Annual Review

process.

5. Work in partnership with parents/carers, children and young people and develop effective

relationships with schools, professionals and other agencies. Develop excellent working

relationships with other Local Authorities and with our key stakeholders.

6. Negotiate educational provision with schools, settings and other agencies. Manage and monitor

contract compliance with providers.

7. Support the Team in ensuring statutory duties and targets are met. Support the development of

practices and policies within the team.

8. Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Local Authority s response to special educational

needs in the County. Participate in the delivery of training to schools, parents, professionals and

other agencies.

9. Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.

10. To support and work on any other identified areas as requested by the SAT Strategic Manager

Qualifications and professional memberships

  1. Relevant professional qualification or evidence of professional development
  2. Recognised Management qualification
  3. Project management qualification
  4. Evidence and experience of budget, revenue and grant management and forecasting
  5. High level of information technology skills and high-level report writing

Specialist knowledge skills and experience

  1. A good understanding of Fire and Rescue Service functions and statutory duties.
  2. Ability to assist with planning and review for the Service to achieve maximum benefit from resources.
  3. To support and promote change in a large and complex organisation, demonstrating the ability to obtain acceptance/agreement, and effectively influence behaviour change to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Good understanding of service delivery across the public sector with a political awareness
  5. Ability to manage projects through to delivery and contribute to wider SFRS project outcomes.
