Reception Teacher - Full Time - Islington - September 2026 Start
A welcoming and supportive one-form entry primary school based in Islington is looking to appoint an experienced Reception Teacher to join their EYFS team from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and creative EYFS practitioner who is committed to delivering engaging learning experiences and supporting children through the early stages of their education.
Reception Teacher - The Role:
Full-time position, Monday to Friday
Working hours: 08:30am - 4:00pm
September 2026 start
Inner London MPS 1-6
.21 PAYE per day
Full class teacher responsibilities
Interviews and trial days taking place soon
The ideal candidate will:
Be an experienced Primary Teacher with QTS (ECTs will not be considered)
Have strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Curriculum
Be confident delivering high-quality phonics teaching
Create engaging, creative and stimulating lesson plans that inspire young learners
Be passionate about supporting children's development and successful transition into KS1
Have strong behaviour management and assessment skills
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff
Main responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the EYFS framework
Creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
Supporting children's early literacy, numeracy and communication development
Delivering high-quality phonics sessions and early reading support
Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress across all areas of learning
Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development
Organising creative, play-based and structured learning opportunities
Working closely with parents, carers and colleagues to support pupil progress and wellbeing
Preparing pupils for a smooth and positive transition into Year 1
