A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the Thamesmead area is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join its successful English department from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inspiring students and raising achievement across Key Stages 3 and 4. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECTs.



The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and creative English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and department
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and excellent subject knowledge


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a degree in English or a related subject
  • Is passionate about literature and language
  • Has high expectations for student progress and behaviour
  • Works effectively as part of a team
  • Is committed to continuous professional development
