Job Purpose
Complete residential and occasional commercial planned and reactive HIU related installation and maintenance activities with a balance of hands-on and managing appropriate resources, for all mechanical, electrical issues that impact/are likely to impact on the operational performance of the District Heating Network (DHN) and communal heating schemes throughout the Southwest London area.
Our market is the District Heating, which is growing at a rapid rate. This is a great opportunity for personal development on District Heating Networks, HIUs and Heat Pump Technology. The role is primarily domestic but with aspects of commercial as well. There are also opportunities to progress to other areas within the business learning new skills and knowledge. Internal training is also available to support any applicant with core skills in DHNs, HIUs, heating and plumbing advancements to develop into the role.
In the role:
Any applicant will report directly to the HIU Team Manager and take instruction from the teams Lead HIU Engineer
Development in role :
Internal training on HIUs/Heat Pumps and DHNs
Development of people, processes, communications skills
DHN knowledge and Skill development
Ideal role for applicants with core plumbing and heating knowledge seeking development into DHN/HIUs/Heat Pumps.
Main Responsibilities HIU Installation and Maintenance activities, Servicing, Breakdowns, Upgrades. Installation, Commissioning, General Plumbing and Heating work (HVAC). Following correct working processes and capturing accurate visit information. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and PPE requirements and following the correct processes, Meeting any performance measures and KPIs set by the team leader/manager, Supporting other teams to deliver the necessary services to customers.

Experience and Qualifications - Essential / Desirable
Key skill requirements
The post holder will have these maintenance skills:
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent along with significant expertise in general plumbing, heating, mechanical essential, basic electrical advantageous.
Hold a Valid Driving License (mobile technician required)
Domestic gas boiler experience with relevant gas safety registration is an advantage but not necessary.
HIU and DHN Experience is an advantage
The ability to innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve efficiency
A willingness to develop the site by looking for best practise and ways to improve the plant operational and commercial performance.
The capability and willingness to achieve E. ON's required competency levels - Safe System of Work (SSOW), Contractor Safety and Engagement (CSE).
Competent in understanding risk assessments, procedures, and processes.
IT Skills, Computers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to form effective working relationships with site and external staff at all levels.
An ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints.
Qualifications
