Job Role: Mechanical CAD Technician
Salary / Rate: 30 - 40 per hour (Ltd Company)
Location: North Wales (St. Asaph) / Hybrid
Our client is seeking a mechanically biased CAD Technician to support ongoing design delivery across United Utilities (UU) and Welsh Water frameworks. Based out of their St. Asaph office in North Wales, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to a variety of essential water infrastructure schemes.
About the Role:
Producing high-quality 2D mechanical CAD drawings for water and wastewater projects
Supporting design delivery across United Utilities (UU) and Welsh Water frameworks
Working closely with engineers to develop detailed design outputs through all project stages
Some involvement in 3D CAD modelling, where required (desirable but not essential)
Ensuring design outputs are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements
Office-based collaboration with hybrid flexibility from North Wales
About You:
Mechanically biased CAD Technician with proven experience in the water industry
Strong background producing mechanical designs on water/wastewater projects
Proficient in 2D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)
3D CAD experience is advantageous but not essential
Experience working on UU and/or Welsh Water frameworks is highly desirable
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work both independently and within a design team
Good communication skills and a proactive, delivery-focused mindset
