Night Traffic Operator (Container Transport) Nights
Location: London Gateway / Essex
Shift: Monday night to Saturday morning, 22 00
Salary: £33,500 starting salary + review after 6 months
A well-established and expanding logistics operation is seeking a Night Traffic Operator to support its overnight transport function. This is a key position within a busy container environment, suited to someone who is experienced, decisive, and comfortable working independently during high-pressure night shifts.
The Role
Working as part of a dedicated night team, you ll oversee the smooth running of transport movements, ensuring drivers, ports, and internal systems remain fully aligned throughout the shift. This is a hands-on, real-time coordination role where quick thinking and accuracy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage overnight vehicle movements
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers and port contacts
- Respond to and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Ensure all transport systems and documentation are accurate and up to date
- Support the wider operation in maintaining service levels during peak activity
About You
- Proven experience within container transport or a similar traffic/operator role
- Confident working nights in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Able to make sound decisions independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Resilient, reliable, and comfortable managing operational challenges
