Music Teacher

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaging, and highly motivated Music teacher to join a thriving and forward-thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced practitioner who is passionate about Music education and keen to play a key role in shaping the future direction of the subject within the school.

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated subject specialists who bring a wide range of expertise and a shared commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. You will be expected to deliver inspiring and well-structured lessons that engage students of all abilities, fostering both a love of music and strong academic progress.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Teaching the OCR GCSE Music syllabus, incorporating elements of World Music and Popular Music
  • Using a range of teaching strategies to support all learners and maximise achievement
  • Promoting and developing students' literacy and oracy skills within Music lessons
  • Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the department
  • Supporting extracurricular activities such as clubs, ensembles, or performances (desirable)
